Young Thug Wore a Pelle Pelle Vest to SummerStage During New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week had plenty of fashion moments happening across the city, but Young Thug brought his own version of NYFW style to Central Park.

On September 13, the Atlanta rapper took the stage at SummerStage in Central Park for the New Generation Tour, his first official headlining run since 2019. While the night was centered around YSL’s next generation of artists, Thug’s look was a reminder that his influence has always extended well beyond music.

For the performance, Thug wore an olive green Pelle Pelle leather vest featuring the brand’s signature double-PP rose-gold embellishment on the left side. We’ve seen Pelle Pelle explore the PP motif across a number of its vests, making it one of the newer design details the brand has been playing with.

The vest is finished with layered metallic detailing, including rhinestone embellishments and intricate stitching across the back, while the ribbed hem gives the piece a classic Pelle Pelle finish. It’s a statement piece without feeling overly complicated, letting the detailing do most of the talking.

The look feels particularly fitting for Thug. Pelle Pelle has long held a distinct place in hip-hop fashion, and Thug has spent much of his career pushing the boundaries of what a rapper is expected to wear. From his early experimental style to the more theatrical fashion moments that became synonymous with his image, clothing has always been part of the Young Thug story.

This time, the occasion was bigger than a typical concert. The New Generation Tour was built around Young Thug and the emerging artists of Young Stoner Life, with NAV joining him alongside Tezzus, Diamond*, 1300SAINT, Iyrus and others.

But naturally, the Pelle Pelle vest was the moment.
